How people agree to texts

Nobody gets INARA Motel Texts texts without agreeing first. This is how guests and staff agree, and what we keep as a record.

Guests, at the front desk or when booking

When a motel adds a booking in INARA, the person at the desk asks the guest: “Can we text you about your stay? Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP anytime.” If the guest agrees, they tick this box in the owner app:

“Guest agreed to get texts about their stay”

If it isn't ticked, INARA sends that guest no automatic texts. We record when it was ticked and how the booking came in.

Guests who booked through other software

A motel's booking software can tell INARA that a guest agreed to texts when they booked. Those guests get no automatic texts until the motel's owner turns on “Text guests from booking-site reservations”, which is for motels whose booking process asks for that agreement.

Guests who text first

A sign at the front desk invites guests to text the motel with questions, with the rates, STOP and HELP information on it. A guest who texts in gets a reply to what they asked. A person at the motel reads the reply first, unless the motel has chosen to send one of its own answers automatically. The first reply ends with “Reply STOP to opt out”.

Staff

When a motel adds a housekeeper or maintenance worker, they get one text:

“Reply YES to get job texts from {motel} via INARA. Reply STOP anytime.”

They get no job texts until they reply YES. Only they can say yes: the owner can't do it for them, and the owner's app shows “Waiting for YES” until they do. We record when they replied, how, and which text it was. If their number changes, they're asked again.

Owners and managers

Alert texts are off until an owner turns them on in the app, typing their own number, and chooses which managers get them.

Changing your mind

Anyone can reply STOP at any time, and the texts stop. HELP gets help. Message and data rates may apply. Mobile numbers and opt-in data are never sold or shared for marketing. Questions: hello@inarahq.com.
